Latest Addition To The Gleaner Herd

This past Friday I brought home a 6' Low Bin Gleaner that I had been after for 30 years. I first found it East of Augusta, Kansas in a barn which is 65 miles NE. The owner said he had just traded it to a person he worked with in the aircraft industry for lifetime hunting rights. Later in the conversation I learned the person he traded it to was just 4 miles NW of my place! Well this guy thinks everything he touches is rare and worth a fortune so it could not be bought. He had a farm sale Friday as he is moving to town so I got it bought on the auction. I have a 48 high bin that is just as nice. The guy let the engine get stuck and pulled a head off years ago so I will use a parts engine to make the original engine run again. This one is a 1950.

Nice, I owned a PTO model S for several
years. Bar none did the finest job in
wheat of any combine I have ever run. I
still have a box of NOS sections for it
somehwere.

Didn't know they made anything like that. Self propelled Gleaner K and F size combines were briefly very popular around here, don't know of
any pull types, and never a model that neat and relatively modern.
