Massey Grain heads

I am looking to get a head to combine soybeans for my Massey 550 combine. I was doing a little research and I have came across a 1859 and a 9116 head. Is one better than the other for cutting soybeans? It looks like both will fit the 550 combine. I am guessing the 9116 is a lot newer?

I ran a 1859 for years good head if you can find one that not worn out.The 9116 has a Hydraulic reel drive if I'm not mistaken.

That's kind of what I am wondering. I found a fella that has a 9116 head for sale that is in way nicer shape than any 1859 head I have seen. This head has the hydraulic reel but has what looks to be an aftermarket pump and reservoir mounted to it. Has anyone seen this before? Other than the hydraulic reel is anything different on this head than a 1859?

The oil reservoir and pump driven by a multi grooves belt is a massey option for combines not fitted with the extra hydraulic reels pump.
The only issue with a 9116 is that it is a lot heavier than the 1859. At least it looks like.

I too am looking for an 1859 head for a 550 Massey. I am hoping to find one locally but they haven't been made for such a long time it may be hard to find

Thought I would post a couple of pictures of the head we hauled home today. This is the 9116 head. I thought it was in really nice shape for its age.
