Well does the hydro whine when you move the control back and forth???? Is the charge pump belt still on the machine???? Is the transmission in neutral??? Does the hydro control arm move on the hydrostat?? Not enough information to really tell you much.

NO WHINING, BELT IS ON AND TURNING,ITS IN GEAR, HYDRO ARM IS MOVING, FLUIDS ARE ALL UP, IT WONT DO ANYTHING, IT WORKED FINE HE SAID WHEN HE QUIT USING IT, ABOUT READY TO PULL MY HAIR OUT, LOL

Hmmm...could be hydro to transmission coupler stripped...final drive/trans couplers stripped...charge pump belt gone or slipping...no oil in hydro tank...linkage/cable unhooked or stuck...lots of possibilities on an old 6600

IF you have no whining then I would get a pressure gauge and see if you have any pressure at the relief valves. It has been years since I did one so you will need to look in a manual to see where the test ports are. Pretty common to do when having pressure relief valve issues.

Also like someone else posted the coupler between the transmission could be shear but you can usually still hear the hydro trying to work

Loosen the line from the charge pump to the hydro and see if you have any flow/pressure there. IF it does not create the minimum pressure needed then the main hydro will not pump at all. If you do not have any flow there check and see if the hydro filter is plugged in the reservoir.

My old hydro would leak all the oil out over the winter the charge pump would lose its prime on the suction side and wouldn't pick it up. Had to loosen/remove the suction hose at the tank and fill the hose with oil. It would then work.
