Two of my favorite subjects in this picture - old motorcycles and old farm equipment. For the record the motorcycle is a 1941 to 1946 74 or 80 inch flathead Harley Davidson. Picture was posted on one of my old motorcycle forums.
My dad bought the first combine in our area in late 1930's. It was a Case that had a gravity discharge bin like the one in the picture. He and grandpa were sharecropping a farm near Elk Mound, Wisconsin and the owner of the farm was so incensed with the 'new contraption' that he kicked them off the farm. They both agreed that it was the best thing that could have happened as they then bought the farm I was raised on.
