Ford 611 Promotional Slide Show

Wanted to share this slide show I just got put together. It?s from the original 35mm filmstrip and 45 record I converted to digital. I then projected the slides and took digital pictures and matched them up. Hope you enjoy

Did Ford do any others? How did you go about doing this? I have maybe 30 or more original John Deere ones with the film strips and records. I have the original player as well but would be very interested in having them put on a disc for storage and viewing. Thanks for posting. Tom

I bought a record player off amazon that plugs into the computer and then it records it to a digital file. As far as the pictures go I bought a projector for the 35 mm film strip off of eBay so I could look at them. I then decided to try projecting them onto a screen and set up a digital camera on a tripod and just took a picture of each slide. Then used movie maker on the computer and had to time the pictures to the recording. They make a 35mm to digital converter that you slide the film through and it basically takes a picture of each slide but they run $75-$100 so I went with the camera. I think it turned out ok.

Ford made several of them. I?ve got a couple more strips and several other records. I?m going to do them next. Another guy is sending me 3 other Ford ones I?m going to convert too.

I was just doing some ebay searches and they are several options. I am looking in to doing my Deere ones. If you load your case ones to a disc I would be interested in buying a copy or even trading a copy of my Deere ones if you are interested. Tom

I didn't know Ford combines had the first three cncaves plugged for extra threshing, we use to have some hard threshing wheat, i had to do the same thing with the John Deere's, it made a big difference for knocking it out the first time thru.

You might try an outfit called "Legacy Box". I haven't used them, but they advertise that they can take old films, slides, photos, CD, VCR and put them on a DVD or thumb drive them. Might want to do a search for converting film strips to digital too. I have a rig that will take a VCR or a record and put it on a CD/DVD but I've never used it. You just have to have the program on the computer and the wiring to hook it all up. Slides and film strips are more complicated obviously.
