smaller combines

looking at the pics of the pull types, got me to wondering which if any companies were producing a smaller combine. I have in the neighborhood of 250 to 300 acres to combine and just can't justify anything much newer than a m3 or l3, currently using an m2 but where does one go from here.

Keep running the L2/3 or M2/3

If you have a 77 or 78 2 series, step up a few years. a 81 or 82 with the newer cab interior is many steps up, and the 84.5+ with the bigger hydro is even nicer yet.

What few parts Agco does not carry, aftermarket outfits like Abilene machine offer. I have yet to find a part that cannot be sourced from Agco or Aftermarket.

If you need more capacity, look into a PFP Enclosed Cylinder (www.pfparts.com)

I do 300+ with a L2. "If" I upgrade which might happen I'm looking at a 2366. I'm just not convinced. L2 I have parts guy close. I might just run with what we have but...

IF KUBOTA were to bring to the states a NEW combine the size of the JD 4400 or Gleaner F would you be interested in purchasing a new smaller combine?

You know that is the first thing I thought , either he is a die hard MF man or has something wrong with his 2144, no comparison in my running of the two.

Claas, Deere and New Holland all have 4 walker combines selling in Europe. These would be the same width as a JD 6620 with more power and fancier cabs. Look up Sampo Rosenlew. They are a maker of smaller combines in Finland.

Kubota does have some combines in the states...but I think they are little-bitty rascals...They are going to have to swing a 30 foot head to make any head-way in Oklahoma.
