Variable speed and belts driving hydraulic on F2

F2 was under a shed at a friends house. Was moved out, maybe without any hydraulic fluid. Added ATF and unloading auger comes out, and throat raises and lowers, but the variable sheaves don't seem to move. What would be wrong?

Anyone else have the twist in the idler arm for the two small belts off of the crank running the hydraulic pump? I've straightened it once, but it keeps throwing belts off.

The pivot for the pump drive is likely worn, and causing misalignment of the belts
when oil is demanded from the pump. The variable speed may just need a bit of use to
free it up, as one pulley widens, the other should narrow. As long as everything else
hydraulic is good, just use it a bit, even driving slowly, perhaps apply the brake as
the speed is reduced. May help it free up.

I had the same problem with my f2 on the hyd drive belts. Idler assembly was running crooked and throwing belts off. Nothing was worn out, but there are 2 bushings where the assembly pivots with a space between where the grease fitting hole comes in. One bushing had moved to the center causing the arm to really only have support on one side and allowing it to twist sideways. Took the bushing out and put a spacer in between to keep the bushings in place. Spacer was a bit smaller to allow room for grease to get around it. seemed to solve the problem. But it was a bugger to get to. Had to pull the radiator out, which wasn,t too bad a job, but really annoying. More bad words said about design engineers.

That would be my next course of action, I don't think that little hyd cylibpnder has a lot of force, make sure the shaft and pulley and all are greased and free and easy to slide, just use it gentler to free it up, etc. I'm sure tearing it apart and freeing it up would be best, but if you are like me, run it a while and see if the rust falls out on its own.........

The control rods on that 4 way lever in the cab can be a bigger to set just right, if something got messed with at all by just a few fractions of an inch could be it's not even engaging the hyd spool too?

On the lower pulley(closest to the axle)is a grease zerk(behind the pulley on a shaft).Pump at least 15 strokes worth of grease into it and if it won't"take"grease, remove
the zerk and find out why.
Do whatever you can to get grease in the assembly.
