Here's a cool one

What a beauty. Do you vknow where it's located? How big is the difference between the 303 and 503. Looks very similar?

Dugger,

Would you be able to post a picture of that 503?

I have a penchant for the red ones. Love to see
every one possible.

😀

Hey redroundhead
It won’t be here for a couple weeks
And I’m not smart enough to post pics
I’ve tried and never had any luck
I can text you pics of my herd if you give me a number
Dugger

Hope this works, this is Dugger's "503" ( I couldn't resize this photo)

Thank you both, Dugger and Ande!

Looks to be in good shape. Even has the nice header and a cab to boot!

Is it a gear or hydro? Petrol engine, or diesel?

Hope you have fun witn it - that was a good deal you got!

Friend had one with 23.1x26 tires. He couldn't keep up with my 1660 JI Case and do a decent job. Dad had a 403 as his first self-propelled machine. When he had the 403 I bought my 1160 Case.

Both the JI Case 1660 and 503 were made during the same frame. However, the 1660 had a 6" wider separator and more separation area. The 1660 was simply the bigger combine. The one advantage the 503 was you could get a hydro on them making them much handier to operate.

Well you are correct
I was thinking about my 181
The 1660 is just bigger
And I think the 503 was a little short of hp
I learned to harvest on a 403 and we thought
We had something
Dugger

The 503 actually has a little more horsepower then the 1660. Corn headers are hard to come by were I am at in Montana.

Hi guys I'm looking for information about the platform head on my 303. Last fall the plastic guides on the drum fell apart and the steel fingers got inside the drum and started poking new holes! Sobs. So is there a model number for the head or a part number vfor the fingers and guides? Or could I do away with the fingers all together and put full flighting on or some rubber paddles to flip the beans into the feeder house?

Just curious..what was the 503 rated at for hp? A 1660 Case with 318 Chrysler was rated at 100 horse. Always had enough until we started
getting close to 200 bpa corn yields. A 306 6row head was a easy running head. Have a 4 row wide for a 1660, but I think you were looking for
a narrow.

I’m not real sure but I think it was 106 hp
I remember they had those little engines maxed out
I don’t have a book yet
I will keep the 4 row head in mind
Thanks
Dugger
