8 row on a 9500

I am looking at an 8 row head and just wondering if its to much for my 9500? Also its a single point hook up,is it hard to switch the head to hook up to the older combines?

I have a friend that runs an 8 row Deere on a 9500, he has to run a little slower but it will still handle about 3.5-4 mph in 200+ bu corn. They went the other way though and converted the combine to single point hookup instead of converting the head to the combine. About the only thing I would change is that he is running big single drive tires and they squat pretty hard under that head, I think duals would be a better choice in the long run.

I agree with oliverkid. The machine will handle the 8 row head just fine, but you probably will want more tire on the ground and duals would be the right fit. I tend to think the 9500 is more of an 8 row machine in corn versus a 6 row machine with the capacity it has even in 200+ bushel per acre corn.
