traction belt on 510 MF

if it isn't missing there should be a decal on the variable speed pulleys that gives the steps
 
What gbs said, and you will need the wrenches to rotate the transmission and re-adjust the square shift rod. Hopefully the belts are not worn so much they are already bottomed in the pulley grooves, if so you may never get them tight enough to pull any hills. That's what happened on the last one I scrapped out, barely made it home..
 
Be sure and loosen set screw on the gear shift linkage before you adjust belts. On my 550 there are 3 bolts to loosen on tranny, before you adjust nuts. Tighten set screw back. Make sure before you start that you can shift all 4 gears.
 
thanx guys ,,This 510 wont stay in 2nd ,, so i fear, this may be a repeat of a another problem i have already seen... .gonna put this one off til i get better info ,,.about those shifting linkages,. i know we messed up a 510 tranny 40 yrs ago ,,.because the P-owner fouled up the linkage ,. probably , same holds true on my 300 diesel..
