Massey Harris Lineage

My Dad had a Massey Harris pull type combine back in the 50's and 60's. It had an engine, maybe a Continental. It had it's own hydraulic control on the head. We used it to combine oats and red clover. Sometimes he combined wheat and barley for others. I am sorry that I cannot recall the model number. I think the grain head was 10'. I know it was not the Clipper. As I recall the Clipper had a rounded back covering the walker section. The combine my dad has was flat sheet metal above the walker section.

Anyway, I was wondering if there is any Massey Harris design lineage that fed forward into the current Massey Ferguson combines. Does anyone have any suggested resources that might address this question?

My Dad was particularly proud of that combine. It did a great job. He made sure no grain was lost. It was always shedded.

Thanks.

These two Massey Harris # 60 pull Type Combines were on my first 244 acres I purchased in 1974. One I ran until 1987,the other was a parts machine. Powered by a 4 cylinder Continental .
I used a JD Model AR to pull the machine. A small but great machine used in Barley, and Oats.

The Reel has been stored for more than 47 years since last used.

Yes, that sure looks like it. I think I see the over-center lever that engaged the big belt. I think I am recalling that correctly. Radiator, engine, fuel tank must be missing.

Thanks.

the new massey combines actually draw their lineage from white combines as they bought out white's combine line and used it from there on out.further more white bought cockshutt and used their combines as their own. so essentially a new massey combine is derived from cockshutt heritage and has none from massey-harris.clear as mud right?
