Re: F3 cylinder bar replacement

Thanks JD!
I called AGkits, The do not have any in stock and if they did get some they would be a couple months out but hes not sure if they will even get any.
I called Polytin (ausherman manf), He said the foundry that casts the ausherman bars literally burned down and the molds with it so they will never make ausherman bars again.
Still trying to get a hold of trimpe, but my friend said those are no good because they wear underneath the bars and then wrap the cylinder like crazy.
If I go with the agco bars and spacers $4,000 I will have to remove the spacers in beans and put them back for corn, so not only a ton of money but also way more work when switching. I currently run ausherman bars and they are wider so I dont have any spacers to deal with.
Thanks for your help!

I don't know if Agco still uses Heritage parts, but back when I rebared my M-3 they did, actually an Agco company, but much cheaper than OEM bars, and they were wide spaced and chromed. You may want to ask.

check with Oakley Combine Oxford N.C. they sell anything you need for an F3 we installed a set of reconditioned bars from them a couple years ago and have had good results with them they have every other original tooth removed and remaining ones built up with hard surfacing material, it will shell all the dry corn a 4rw head can shove in it and not overload the engine but the elevators will overload if pushed to hard, BIG difference in soybeans with green stalks, also I quit removing the filler bars from corn to soybeans only thing I've noticed is a little cylinder imbalance on restart in soybeans, did notice that we had to add another concave bar in oats and milo, but the bars made a definite improvement in the amount of material the machine can handle.
