done with harvest for another year. need to replace cylinder bars. where is the best place to get them, price and type of bar? thanks !!

There are not many places to get them anymore, Type in PolyTin and they have them. They sell Ausherman cylinder bars about $750 a set of 8 and they sell the Gleaner style Chanel concave bars about $17 each or the Ausherman style Rasp type concave for about $175 for a set of 5. If you go to Agco it will be about double the price. Ausherman bars are more aggressive than standard Gleaner bars and seam to last longer to me. The stock Gleaner bars have more veins closer together and the Ausherman bars have fewer veins but there bigger. Here's a pic of Ausherman Bars for a Gleaner A2 and Stock AC and Ausherman concave bars. Hope this helps you out. Bandit

Do a search for Oakley Combine Salvage. Did get a quote from them a couple years ago. Cannot remember how much it was. They are a more aggresive type.

where are you located, I have a set of aushermans that are 85% or better, I had replaced them with Trimpe bars out of indiana. I am located in ohio if you are interested in the aushermans.

Do they work well for small grains and corn/soybeans?

Some of the modified type work great for one size crop, but not the other. I do 90% corn/soybeans, but that little bit of oats can get me....

The Ausherman bars work good for corn, soybeans, wheat, spelts, oats, clover and timothy seed. The Ausherman Concave bars for a Gleaner to me work better than the stock channel bars because it gives it more of a rubbing and twisting action to thrash the grain, I have never had a problem with them and have worked good for me and I like them. Does anyone know where I can get a set of Aushermans for my 1983 F-3?
I use them now and I was looking to replace them with the same thing. So far I have located Polytin and Trimpe but they are closed until monday, any other suggestions or am I on the right track?

The Agco bars and spacers everything are over $4000
