Hi everyone I'm brand new to the forum and came across your discussion on the case 600. I'm new to being a combine junkie and about a year ago bought a jd 3300 that I put back in service. Now I'm hooked and I'm looking at buying a case 600 down the road. I know nothing about these machines except they are extremely cool! And I really need any advice and knowledge I can aquire from you all. What to look for ex, ex. It has set for along time and the owner is either going to sell it or take the motor off to build an oilfield wash unit! I want to restore it and use it to cut barely and soybeans and use my 3300 for corn. Any advice and help will be greatly appreciated god bless you all!

Hey jkasper
Welcome to the combine collectors fever
It only gets worse
Lol
I started four years ago and now I have no shed room
One thing I have learned is you can get a solid
Machine for just a few hundred more and it will save you lots
The 600 is a good machine
Simple to run set and work on
I have several case machines and most are now usable
Depending on cost and how far away it is are the most important things
If you can haul it yourself it will save you lots
The 600 is easy to haul
I have a good one you can buy if that one doesn’t workout
I’m in eastern Illinois

Hi. Dugger. This machine is going to
be a fixer upper! Its about 30 miles
from home. We are located in south
eastern ks. What is a 600 worth? I
paid 1500 for my 3300 18th quick tach
header and 343 corn head, drove it
home and used it of course I found
things to fix as I went and it was an
education lol! I'm a "kid" by most the
farmer's standards here being 35 and
having never have been a farmer I've
been taken advantage of buying
equipment for the farm. Around here
most vintage machines of they run sell
for 1500 to 2000 . this 600 will need
some new rubber for sure one tire the
front left is flat might take air the
back two are dry rotting. Thier are no
"collections around here just big
farmer's with "junk" not my word , in
their barns. Thanks for all your help
and the reply. Does your 600 run?

One thing you will notice once you get it into the field is it really saves the grain.

I've read several places that these machines are excellent grain cleaners and have little waste. What are they worth, I've looked on tractor house and found 4 finished auctions in the last year and a half. All machines ran and were "field ready" and they sold from 900 and 1000 for the 600 and 1100 for a 660. A fully restored one sold for 3500 . what should expect to pay for an average machine of this vintage. I know that is a loaded question but just looking for ball park's from a shell of the combine to a restored beautiful machine that looks like it came off the show room floor. Any help will be appreciated and thanks for everyone wisdom

Your price range sounds right to me,, of course the better shape they are the higher the price is the norm,, The one I have I am third owner of, first owner was Very Proud of his machine, and the care he gave it shows. The friend I was able to buy this from bought it from the original owner after a time, he agreed to never let it sit outside over night,, i felt this was a higher end machine so I did give some money for it,, hard money with freight on my yard I have 2100.00 in it but 900 of that was the fuel cost to haul it to me, I feel it was well worth the money and she has already more than paid for itself in just alfalfa seed I cut with it the first year I had it. Not sure if that helps or not

If I could get one home that was as nice as that for 2100 I will be pleased as punch! This is going to be my xmass present to me and my dad! Lol
