John Deere 99 Cotton Picker

Hello! Does anyone here have any experience with a John Deere model 99 2 row cotton picker? This is a 1960's era machine, and was Deere's first "true" self propelled picker. The one in question is a high drum model for picking tall cotton, but that doesn't make any difference to the questions in mind.
We have one in our local farm museum, and I've always been intrigued by it, because I've never seen another like it. It has an Ansel aftermarket cab, which looks pretty good on it, aside from the fact it was crushed by a big tree limb many years ago.
The machine is set up to run on propane or gasoline, and it has LP fuel in it. Engine is a Deere 6 cylinder, but that's all I know. I'm assuming it's 12 volt, as the battery box is only big enough for a standard battery, not the long skinny 6V batteries found on the new generation tractors.
I have 2 questions now...
1. Has anyone ever seen one of these? In all my research, I've never seen another. Only a couple vintage advertisements online. So I'm thinking not many were made?
2. If anyone has any experience with one, how do you run it?? I've looked all over this thing, and the only engine control I can find in the cab is the choke cable. I see no throttle, no starter key/button, or anything. The machine ran when it was parked inside, but that was years and years ago, and no one knows how to operate it anymore. I'm thinking it was cobbled up some way, because I find it odd there is no key switch in the cab. The only button I can find is on the steering column, and I think it's the fuse reset button.

I bought 3 for salvage about 16 years ago and still have most of one, i can look it over for where to start it

I worked at John Deere DesMoines works 33 years, that's where your cotton picker was made. Why Iowa, because the engineer that designed the first one worked there. I'm pretty sure you can order a manual for your picker from your J D dealer.

Yes my dad had a high drum 99 cotton picker. No cab. Propane. The starter is on the steering wheel the light switch actually. Turn one time to the right and press the starter button next to it. Don't ask me how I remember it but I do. The throttle is on the right hand side of the seat if I remember correctly. It's one of the levers, can't remember which one, probably the one closest to the seat. Hope this helps! I was only a kid when he had it and now it's most likely in the scrap yard by now. No that button isn't a fuse reset it's the starter switch.
