Has anyone else on here had trouble with corn not wanting to dry this year? We haven't had much cold weather at all and corn (same variety and brand) I combined last year in mid October is just barely ready to pick. Also these new corn hybrids (ears) don't fall down, luckily I was hand picking a few ears and discovered water had run down the ear and at the stalk end corn was wet and sprouting, rest of the ear was good.

Here in central NY the common story is big yield, low test weight.
It was a cold, late, wet season yet most corn dried down nicely. The same variety which wouldn't dry down last year (in a drought!) did fine this year. I only know that because I had a few bags left over. I wasn't going to buy any more. Dealer didn't really want to sell any more either! So, figure all that out.

Ours got down to 15.5 percent the last week of October then seemed to pick up moisture. Finished November 10 @ 16.5. West central Iowa.
