Rotor impeller wear bars---chrome vs. hardened?

I need to replace the impeller wear bars on my IH Axial-Flow combine.

I've seen two kinds: chrome and "hardened".

Can anyone advise the difference---which one is best? Thanks.

The best thing you can do is get rid of the impellers and put an AFX style auger front end on it. More expensive but it's one of the best upgrades you can do to those combines. Kile has the cheapest kit. I've used the Lowen kit and the Stewart Steel kit. My preference is the Lowen kit
