I think someone told me how to fix this but i cannot find it. I have a lot of cracked kernels in my sample today. How do I adjust to stop this?

first thing I would do on my 1680 is open the concaves up more, I do a little at a time and then watch your tailings and check cobs to make sure there clean of corn.

Open the concave until you see cobs with kernel on them. Then close it down until you have clean whole cobs. There you have the concave set. Now slow the rotor down until you have kernels on the cob again and then speed it up until you have clean cobs again. It does not take long to do this. It sounds harder than it is.

Ok guys, that was my memory...thanks! I cant get on the fields. Running my sample last night the head started slewing back and forth wiping out rows. Realized my fields were REAL muddy. Never saw such mud! I have a field in back with a lot of sand. Gonna try that one. Need to moisture test. Hoping for < 18%.

Had the same problem with my 1460 for a load or 2 this fall. Ended up doing what jd seller recommended, was still getting more cracking than I liked and had to slow the rotor down.
