Gleaner k2 corn settings

I have been running corn this week have whole cobs coming out but having lots of trash stopping up the chaffer set it as low as3/8 lot of cob and trash staying on chaffer and going thru to the seive fan wide open should I close it down more or what thanks for any advice

The fan adjustment on the K2 doesn't increase or decrease the air it only changes the location of where it goes. If I remember right a lower number puts more air to the rear of the chaffer which may be what you are needing. The trash on the chaffer should be floating a couple inches over it. I always found it helpful to have some help in that regard, either someone else running the combine or watching the chaffer area till I got it set. Also some years the stalks/fodder just really broke up putting more trash thru the combine so I would try to run just under the ears to eliminate some trash.

Thanks for that piece of information did not know that but makes sense why fan is putting more air over the straw walker and not chaffer I’ll adjust it next time I get to run corn

You may want to slow the cylinder speed also because it's possible to "over thresh" and grind up more trash
that can load up on the chaffer

When doing corn you usually run the fan wide open....#7 on the gage? beans, maybe 5-6. If you have trash on the chaffer, open it up more. Let the air float the trash above the chaffer, and send it out the back.
