I just put the corn head on the 55 today for the first time since I have owned it. It probably hasn't been on there for 15 years or so. It seems to run well after we lubed it up a little.
This combine has the springs under the feeder house to help with using the rigid grain head. These springs compress all the way with the corn head and it doesn't lift up very high. My book doesn't say anything about the springs but I am wondering if a guy should disable the springs somehow when using the corn head so it would lift higher.
