1420 combine-rebuilt pump--should I replace injectors?

1420 combine with D-358 engine and about 2300 hours. Had the pump rebuilt because it was leaking. Replaced it today, and after several tries got it started. But now I'm getting some smoke and irregular running.

I was wondering if I should also replace the injectors? Rebuilt ones go for about $130. With this many hours on the engine, and the pump rebuilt, maybe the injectors are getting bad. Thanks for any advice!

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to change the injectors now as well. I can't remember how much they were, maybe $90 comes to mind, but anyway, 5 years ago, NEW injectors from Case IH were cheaper than most rebuilt ones from just about anywhere else. That's what I found with the injectors in the D358 in our 826 when I changed them.

I am not saying nozzles never go bad,, but I will tell you that 9 out of ten changed didnt need anything but to be left alone. Check your timing and fuel filters. Al
