Gleaner K2 straw chopper in corn

Can you run the chopper in corn with out causing damage to it or how do I block it off I don’t have a deflection plate on it

That's what it's there for.....adjust the spreaders and the teeth to get the desired
spread pattern. Ben

Several things I recall(maybe incorrectly)

A heavy plate, to guide the cobs into the chopper. A heavy curtain, to keep the cobs from flying back up into the combine and wrecking it. Extra heavy ends for the straw walkers. A double pulley, wherein you were supposed to change the speed of the chopper.

Seems like the manual/parts book would cover much of this.
