Ih 1460 unload auger will not swing out

The unload auger on our 81 1460 will not
swing out. Have always had to wiggle the
steering wheel back and forth to make it
move, but won't try at all now. Any ideas.

And yet your header lifts OK?

I'm trying to figure out the connection, between the steering and the auger swing, but maybe it is a connection, an electrical one, in near the switch in the steering column?

Not sure if this helps but my deere 7720 auger never swings after it sets all winter. I leave the auger swung out some so I can back machine to back of shed,that my cause it not sure but any way I have to loosen the return line on cylinder and bleed air out. Never been near an IH so this may not help at all.

Figured it out. Had a loose connection on the valve bank. Still have to move the steering wheel to get it to go in and out, but I can live with that for now.

The guy I bought it from said it has been like that for years. He said he had a few different people check it out, but nobody figured it out. He said it never got any worse in the time he had it. I'm guessing something in the valve bank, which I'm not going to dive into. Intimidates me.
