JD Wobble Box

Must be the year for JD wobble box problems. The one on our 216 flex head was leaking a little but managed to get the wheat off without too much issue, just kept an eye on oil level. Figured I better fix before the beans are ready. just got it pulled off today but can't get the arm to budge. Any special tricks for getting it off? Any opinions are appreciated.

The arm is a sticking taper. Put a puller on it and tighten it up tight but not stupid tight. Hit the side of the arm HARD with a hammer/punch. I mean a two pounder at least. The arm will POP off pretty easily doing it this way.

Thanks JD Seller, I was able to get it off this afternoon. Changed from two jaw puller to three jaw, tightened up and hit end of puller with hammer, just a quick rap and it popped off.

Next question is, everything looks good - bearings and shaft don't look worn, was thinking of just putting new o-ring and seal in it. Good or should I go ahead and do the bearings while I've got it down? Couldn't find any play in it before, just was leaking oil. It seemed to leak more while sitting than when I was running which is odd.

IF there is no back lash then just replace the seals. Usually if they have much age the needle bearings need replaced.
