Gleaner f2 header clutch

I have a 77 Gleaner f2 so it doesn't have a header clutch. The header comes when you engage the
threasher. I was wondering if there is any way to make the head turn on and off with a lever instead of
the electric clutch?

The early F's had a belt/tightener lever which operated the header drive. I didn't realize the electric clutch on the F2 was an option. If you could get a look at an early F maybe you could figure out if you could add that to your combine.

My first F had no header clutch, was a '68. My next F2 had the electric header clutch.

I've seen models in between with a lever that engages a V belt, can't remember exactly but think a fairly long lever on the right side of the steering wheel, the v belt is below it and a simple idler pulley you are engaging or disengaging.

If you find a parts machine it might not be too hard to adapt. Maybe.

I would try and find the manual setup off a F or G, the nice thing about them is they are simple and if you see a big ol wad of crop or a rock, you can actually stop the header, yanking the lever will make the little wood block grab the belt and try to hold it.

Ack, can't tell my lefts from my rights. The lever would be on the left of the steering wheel, sorry.
