John Deere 200 series grain head wobble box question

I have a question about the wobble box on a John Deere 200 series grain head (220). How is the shaft coming out of the bottom of the gear case and the driving arm matched together????? Are the splines taper cut or are they straight cut????? I switched out a wobble box today from a spare head to the one I primarily use. The one I took out seems to have about 3/16 to 1/4 inch of play if measured out at the end of the arm. You can see the arm move independent from the big nut on the bottom - the wear is in the splines. I tried to tap the arm up on the shaft more thinking it would get tighter but it never moved up or tightened any. Makes me think they might be straight cut or the arm has become worn excessively??????? The one I put on is 100% tight with hardly any play in the internal parts when rolling the pulley. Looks like the one I removed might be leaking a small amount of 80-90 wt. as the top of the skid plate was covered with dirt and oil. I wonder if oil has been working into the splines and caused the splines to "work" on each other??? Last question - is there a fix to the loose shaft and drive arm I took off - robbed it off of my 216???? Thanks.

Andy, I am having trouble with the wobble box on my 220 as well, leaking and knocking, I got one off a 230 header from a neighbor, haven't tried installing it yet, looking at the JD parts website, it appears that it is a straight shaft, not tapered. I hope it will mount up to the support on the 20, there is a different support base on the 230, but the main box should be the same. Not going to mess with it for a few days, the combine just died on me. See my other post here.
