problem with baler

I have a john deere 330 baler. I'm trying to find out why the gate keep opening before it finishes rolling. Can anyone help me?

While I have never owned a JD baler , I have done some bale rolling , 2,000 this year. Have you checked to see if there is any hay keeping
the gte from closing completely, and while the gate is closed tke a look at the latch, and see if it is closed and holding as it should. The
hydraulics will hold the gate on most balers closed long enough to almost make a full bale , but will spring open at the end when the
pressure is to great. Have you had this baler long ? There is a chance the hinge is wore or sprung.

What tractor are you using? Try switching to a different tractor as I would expect your problem is the tractor hyd valve and not the baler. I have baled thousands of bales with a 335 Deere baler with no problems of any kind. Tom

I had new Holland that would do this when
running it with a David Brown 1200 tractor.
The hydraulics on this tractor were too slow
and the gate would close from its weight
faster than the tractor could fill the
cylinders with oil. It would work ok if you
held the hydraulic lever for a few seconds
after the door would close until the
hydraulic hose would stand up indicating
that the cylinder was now full of oil.
