Gleaner Reel speed.

My M2 has a switch for Reel speed.
I have a 315 head mounted on the machine.

The previous owner said it worked, but what do it actually do, what does it adjust?

Varies the rpm of the reel, useful to match reel tip speed set slightly higher than ground speed. Helps to feed in crops that are uneven. Ben

How does it physically change the reel speed?

Hydraulic motor drives the reel on the right side. Control varies the oil flow to the motor via the pump on the left side of the header. Ben
