A few years ago we bought a 915. We knew when we bought it that when the hopper was full the drive/pull of the combine would get sluggish. With that in mind we replaced the main hydraulic pump and pulled and rebuilt both drive pumps down at the drive wheels. The first time using the machine after all of these repairs seemed to be going well. Until the machine's drive/pull got sluggish to the point that the machine would not move. We found when this happens the hydraulic fluid is foamy looking with a lot of air entangled in the fluid. If the machine sits for an hour or so the air dissipates and it will move normally - until it repeats. I don't remember seeing a lot of 915's in this area (eastern South Carolina) growing up and we haven't been able to find anyone local that "knows" the 915 (or 815) machines. There were a ton of 715's!
I am hoping someone sees this, knows from experience what may be causing the fluid to get so much air in it during operation and be able to give me a lead on what to do next?
Thanks!
