F2 automatic header valve

So I have an F2 diesel hydro that was used as a small grain combine. I want to use it for soybeans. In the operators manual it shows that two hyd lines connect the automatic header valve to the original header valve in the valve stack. The header valve section on my F2 only has one hose connection. Would I have to change out that section to put the auto header control on this combine? The section I have does have the bolt at the back to adjust out for the detent to work. Could the other line just be returned to tank? Need to find a parts machine. Thanks!

I'm sorry I can't help. My F2 is long gone. I think you're on the right track. I think you'll probably need to change that valve. A junk machine will be a must. There are also springs on the lift cylinders to help float.

Spallinger combine parts in Ohio is my first choice.

You do have a flex head, don't you? In some cases, you can just let the knife move up and down without using the AHHC. I have done that on mine, in good flat fields, just touching the lift control occasionally. Ben

While we are on F2s If anyone knows of a F or F 2 Diesel for sale within 500 miles of Tennessee let me know. Have a need for one. Does not have to be hydro but must be diesel . E mil is open

No, I have a 315 flex head on my M3. The knife has about a 6 inch range of movement up and down, and if the field is smooth enough, I have turned the AHHC off and let the knife alone follow the lie of the land. Ben

The M3 has the proper wiring to run a flex head...the F2 does not, unless it"s been redone. My M2 had HHC, but had to be rewired to run a flex.
