K gleaner carb problem

Yesterday I tried to start my K gleaner so I could combine some oats but I couldn't get it to run. When I put it up in November I cut off the gas and ran it until it emptied the carb. With either it will run. Without either it stops. I changed the inline fuel filter, checked the fuel flow from the tank and replaced the fuel pump[it was suspect last year] Any suggestions or do I go ahead and tear into the carb? Thanks for any help,Lee

May try tapping on the carb a bit before you tear into it, it could be just a stuck float. Some carbs have a filter at the the carb where the fuel goes in, just something to check first. Are you getting fuel to the carb?

On mine a couple years ago I was driving to a field and just as I pulled into the approach it died and would not restart. Pulled off the top of the carb and found a small piece of debris had dislodged and clogged the main jet. Cleaned it out and away I went.

I think the carb. on that has what looks like a big nut- maybe 1" wrench? It is a filter assy. You can actually unscrew the little stem from it, and loosen up the little brass plates, to really get it clean.
