7720 concave bracket

What I feel should be a relatively easy fix is giving me the fits. Replacing the bracket that holds the concave shaft on the left side, so I'm under the cab and squeezed between the tire and the combine frame. The bracket is L shaped with a 3/4" bolt welded to it. I can't get the thing installed. I can't figure out how to get the concave shaft up enough to slip the bracket in. Anyone else ever replace one of these? I keep thinking this can't be that complicated, but then again I have to remind myself that I'm working on a combine.

You can try by raising or lowering the concave from cab or open bottom cleanout door and pry concave up.

I tried the in cab adjustment. I'll try lifting the concave from underneath but I'll have to wait for some help. That might just work. Thanks.

Watch for rodents coming out when you open it! Its a good idea to clean out the rock trap while you are in there. Don't forget to level it once you get the new adjuster on there. Be careful some of the bottom feeder house floor will be real sharp!

Fish a come-along through the cylinder over the shaft and tie onto the concave with wire...should be able to lift it enough to get it back together....can anchor the other end to something on the feederhouse or header

I usually unbolt the rock trap bottom hinge and remove it. It is only 3-4 3/8 bolts on each side and the hinge will pull out. You now have room to work. To lift the adjusting rod I lay a piece of plywood on top of the shoe augers and then you can use a bar against the plywood to lift the concave up.

Remember when you get the "new" bracket in you will need to level the concave.
