corn picker question

Wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the IH forum.
Does anyone know when IH stopped making the 1-PR corn picker? My parts book says they began in 1951 but it doesn't say when they quit.
Is there any kind of serial number list out there for these?
We have one out at Farmamerica, serial no. 28559 and were hoping to find out how old it was. The elevator going into the wagon is white, not red.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Just curious. If they only made 14,000 why would he have a serial number over twice that amount? Would the number be comingled with a different model? Don't know IHC, just mostly Deere followed by Oliver and Wood Bros.

There was a model 1-PRS that was just a snapper, no hulking bed, and they maybe included the 2-PRS and 2-PRS, two row picker and picker snapper.

By 1974 2 row pull pickers were probably far outselling 1 row pull pickers. But I suspect combines far outsold pull type pickers and mounted pickers both.

The most likely place would be Wisconsin Historical Society. Cindy, the head organizer, does a piece from time to time in Harvester Highlights.
