Case 1660 combine

Well I picked up a Case 1660 combine today. I got it started but I think the governor is having problems. Does anyone know how easy the governor is to work on? I think I have a spare one somewhere if I can't get it to work right.

I don't know that has ever been in corn. The person I bought it from owned it for 36 years and never had the head off. He only used it for wheat and soybeans. They didn't raise the clean grain elevator any like was done on my 1665. I wonder if that causes any problems?

I think it might be missing a spring on the governor because it won't throttle up without manually moving the carb. I need to look at it more closely.

Where in eastern Illinois are you
located? There was one that sold at
auction in southern Illinois last year.

In wet corn the cross auger will twist off with that much corn above it. I have only seen one 1665 with the factory extensions and the raised elevator. That would be a excellent set-up.

I've seen a 1665 with a factory raised elevator, but it didn't have bin extensions. I think it was a later model with the track lettering.
