what corn head will work on the John Deere 42 pull type combine and what was the model number for the platform? thanks Howard

Corn head is a 205. I'm not sure the grain head had a number. My first combine was a 42, but that was a long time ago.

The platform did not have a model number, but it did have a serial number plate.

Unfortunately, most of the older machines in salvage yards like Worthington or All State were cleared out when the price of scrap metal was high. You could try Larson's in Harris, MN, as theyseem to hang onto stuff longer.

Most parts off a 40 will fit your 42. You could expand your search to include the 40/42.
