Can all three bearings on the drive side of
the main power cross shaft of a gleaner m be
replaced with out pulling the shaft the book
is not very clear thanks

gear drive I assume?

The first two yes, the inner most big one, I think you can remove the housing and all, but sometimes it wont come off the shaft.

In all our years with them, we have replaced one or two of the big bearings, if a guy does not wash the combine the bearings seem to last a very long time, so if they are fine now I think I would leave well enough alone.

It is a std trasmission I took the right side apart apart yesterday.the big inner bearing had failed as I finished combining last fall.I pulled the hub and pulleys off.I tryed pulling the large bearing off using the cast flange. It pulled over the bearing once I got it off I figured out that new bearing will push threw the flange. The flange only holds the bearing.the bearing seats against a stop on the shaft the elevator pulley keeps everything tight.it was the original bearing from 1976. I hope to change the three bearings on the left drive side next as I am sure they are the orIginla also thanks
