What Grain Head Models for JD4425

I have, but not familiar with the line, a JD 4425 Combine.

Can anybody tell me what Model Number Grain Head Platforms are for the 4425? I need to get one and I'd like the least width for ease of going down the road, since fields are scattered far.

Seems like a 4425 was a Euro model brought over here, center cab, rear engine. They were an orphan, hard to get parts. As far as heads, not sure but thought drives for heads were higher than US combines. There was one that sat in the back of the dealers lot for a long time.

Any of the 200 series or 900 series heads will fit right on. Smallest I have seen was a 213. The hoses from the reel drive are connected on left for 200 and on the right and reversed for the 900. Tom

Walt; That appears to be a rigid head. Don't know your intentions but you want a flex if have or ever will have soys. I see it has some fingers missing. If you do purchase it' roll that auger numerous times and try to make certain the bearings in it are good. You can't just stop at the end of the field and change those.

Got it 10/16 and put it directly into the corn field for 40 acres. Welded a snout piece on the corn head, and the ladder welded a repair.

Yes, we need a head for Soybeans.

After completing 2016 harvest, sent it to the JD Service Dealer for $$$ specials on equipment [i:3f364d442b]tune-ups[/i:3f364d442b], oils, filters, some repairs, this and that, which will cost around a budgeted $6K.

All the belt spares came with it as well as the Op and Service Manuals. Just under 1000 hours on the machine. Blew a seal on the right rear steering cylinder in the field near finishing harvest, that's being repaired as well. Other steering tire is weather worn shot and replacing as well. Was assessed by the elder experienced shop mechanic who knows the model, first: Some chains, adjustments, and the internal under bin auger is rusted around so getting that replaced as well since there's 2 of them available now, before the new ones are gone, and swapping out drive belt. Probably the most expensive repair part is that auger. Need the machine to last awhile, so I'm getting the Service done post season on their offered discounts and free hauling and so on at this time of the year, before next seasons rush, knowing the potential parts issue on older machines.

Would you know the model number of the least expensive flex head for this 4425 Combine?

Been around combines, but this is the first time I ran one - [i:3f364d442b]quite the trip[/i:3f364d442b]. Never thought I'd run a Combine, or ride an elephant, but now I've done both in one shot.

Looks like the 900 series heads are about as reasonable as the 200. Looking at tractor porn house. How far you want to travel will be a deciding issue also. I bought a 918F years a go. Wound up dumping over 3 G's in it. So look em over good, make certain the wobble box is good and tight. The stabilizer on left that the wobble box is held in place by, those like to break in half don't know what a new one costs now. Tom

I saw such a replacement either on eBay of Craigslist, and it was $900 asking, but a pair, supposedly new. I'll check for 9Series Flex, and watch out like you described.
