New holland SP 818

I went and looked at this one coming up at auction this Wednesday,in FonDuLac, WI.

I have been looking for a SP818 for quite awile.

Too far gone for me, but perhaps some one else would need parts, as they are hard to find.

It has the W-348 GM gasser in it,and it has been outside for what looks like 30 or 40 years - the lichen was very established.
I was assuming everything to be shot- the gas tank certainly was.

You better buy it.When you finally do get your SP818,you will be glad for the parts. It will probably bring next to nothing.

They got one of these at the 'Prairie Village' in Madison, S.D. if you need one to look at and take
pictures. If I remember correctly, it's complete and in pretty nice shape.

I think it will bring $200. which is nothing, but it is just wide enough, and in an odd spot on the property, that I am concerned with loading it.

I am wrestling with it - you are correct about parts, but my place has one too many "projects" sitting around the way it is. Trying not to look like a salvage yard.

We will see what happens.

Thought you were die hard fox! You know your super d will out chop that thing
But it would be nice to see one restored so you could be that much more grateful that you own the foxes

I let it go. I had no way to haul it, it would have
needed everything rebuilt, and the timing could not
be any worse. I would prefer to spend more on one
that has less damage. Thats what I told myself
anyway. Another one will show up, someday!

And I DO prefer the old Foxes - they are very stout
machines.
