bought a 525 at a auction in ind without seeing it---runs good ---can I haul it on a gooseneck trailer that is 36 inches tall trhanks

Larry, I hauled both of my MM 4296 combines and my sisters Oliver home on a 36 inch tall gooseneck trailer. I did not let any air out of the tires, probably should have. I have hauled so many combines that I made a set of racks to set on the trailer to make it wider. If you are only hauling one than buy some good quality 2x12's to put under the tires when you get it where you want it on the trailer.

Did you by chance buy the one at the Schrader Auction in Angola 2 weeks ago? A 525 will drive right up on an 8 foot deck no problem.

yes I did I hope it is good bought it sight unseen ---do you know what the outside to outside is thanks for your help

I have hauled 20 or so combines on my gooseneck. Massey Harris 82, 92, Gleaner A, C II, JD 55, MM 4296, SP 168, Oliver 33,35, 40, 431 & 525. Anywhere from half to one third of the tire is on the trailer. My trailer is 8 ft. 6 inches wide. You can haul it without extra width but I made the racks or used 2x12 to make the bed wider just to be safe. I was always worried about a tire blowing out and the combine shifting. If the wheels have been reversed it could be wider, not sure.

Don't know how tall they are. I hauled all of the combines listed without letting air out of the tires. Three of them were 150 mile trips with no problems. If my old memory serves me correctly the 525 & 4296 were right at 13ft. 10 inches.

I was at that auction. I bought the White 4-150 that was there. You didnt do to bad, the old girl is definitely a project but it seemed to run good and it was all there. The grain table was in really good shape and the corn head wasnt to bad either. A bath is going to do it wonders cause I dont think it has seen any water other than an occasional rain storm in years. My 525 is setting up in the driveway right now getting ready to go back into winter storage so I will measure it tomorrow and let you know.

The brochure I have for the 525 combine says "storage dimensions" height is 119 1/4 inches with 14.9 x 26 tires but I think this is without a cab and could be measured with the top half of the radiator shroud folded down.

Just noticed you asked for width as well, can't get the edit feature to work so:

Width, less header with lower section of unloader tube attached is 110 inches. With it removed width is 94 1/2 inches.

Front tread with 14.9 x 26 tires is either 80" or 97". With 18.4 x 26 tires width is either 82" or 95 1/4".
Rear tread is 74 1/2 inches.

I hauled home a 123 McCormick 400 miles home from Kansas..Its one of the tallest combines ever built..
.I had to take the clean grain elevator loose to get it down to 13' 6"..My gooseneck is 32" tall loaded..

Hey Larry sorry for the late reply. Weather forecast wen to hell on me and I went into overdrive trying to get both combines washed up and into the barn before the snow hit.

My 525 is 100 inches outside to outside on the drive tires and 135 inches tall. However mine also has rice and canes on it which make it stand a little taller so yours should be a few inches shorter since it had regular R1's on it.

There is a really nice 4-180 on Craigslist over in Illinois right now but I cant remember what area. No duals on it though.
