Ran some corn with my 1160 case today

Finally got the engine on my combine running good, turns out it was the carb causing some issues. I had someone rebuild it for me. I was surprised that we still have a lot of mud, one field we couldn't do at all and where we could go we had to take a lot from both sides of the wet spots.

Sure looks good, what part of Minnesota are you in, that corn sure looked like it had dried down good, any idea what the moisture was?

Love the old equipment, just about at the point I'm getting to old to fight with it anymore.

Loved the pictures, and I will look at the link, as well.

I'm near Pine City which is in east central Mn half way between Duluth and Minneapolis. This corn should be down under 15%

Good job. The local coop knows by how clean of sample by which combine I am using. My 1160 gives the cleanest sample around

Looks like pretty nice field conditions.....would love to combine corn at 15% most here gets harvested at 25% or so to beat the snow. Nice job. Ben

Thankfully it is not mine. Lol. Seems I can't get away from them tho, dad had 2. They are tough, but they are too flat and wet crops won't slide out.

Thanks for posting those, that as nice a sample as I have ever seen. You guys must have got all the rain we didnt get, drier than a popcorn fart here in central Ohio. From the time they started with beans our harvest ran almost non stop until done. I think it sprinkled twice.

I'm south of him, the Twin Cities has the second wettest rainfall year ever in the 122 years they have kept records. Down here we got more than the Twin Cities did.

Seemed to rain every 48 hours, couldn't make dry hay at all. Seemed like a rain forest here. Sometimes a few 100ths, sometimes 2-5 inches, but it would just rain and rain every other day.

Thankfully we have had a dry November, it was nerve racking to be waiting for dry warm weather to combine beams in November here - that is low odds. Worked out.

Glad it dried out long enough to get the crops out. I am originally from your neck of the woods, New Richland and still have family in the area and also near Freeborn.

Okay, sounds good, I grew up around the huge town of Askov just north of you, that combine sure looked like you had it dialed in, the corn sure looked clean.

Oh, that area has had some even tougher weather the past few years. I have relatives there to, a first cousins kid married into a family down there, teaches school in the New Richland district I believe.
