have jd 7720 combine -twisted off front bin auger -replaced auger -checked everything else over-ok =- now wont engage to unload -any suggestions still got beans in field need to get this fixed -not sure what to change next -replaced shear bolts too
everything looks like it should be right -perplexing situation

I would check the vertical auger. If it is worn it won't pull enough beans away from the bin cross augers and they will overload.

The unloading systems is pretty simple if you understand how they get the power over to run the vertical unloading auger. The unloading auger counter shaft runs right behind the motor. The drive belt is under the seat and is the smaller belt closet to the motor. When you pull up on the engagement lever your working a cable that rotates the counter shaft towards the rear of the combine that tightens the belt. The counter shaft has a chain sprocket on the right hand side. This chain turns a sprocket that is on the front cross auger shaft. If I am understanding you twisted off this auger and replaced it.

Make sure the engagement cable is not broken. To do this raise the seat up and remove the steel panel and look at the engagement lever and cable. The cable rocks the left had unloading countershaft bearing support arm back when engaged. You may have broken the cable when the auger twisted off. That would have caused a shock load through the system. I assume you checked the drive belt too??? You could have snapped it as well.

If the cross auger is not turning it has to be the belt, chain or engagement cable.
