massey 510 clutch adjustment

put a new clutch in the massey 510 last year. doing some beans over the weekend and seemed like linkage to the clutch slipped. had more free travel all of a sudden. looked underneath and see I have a bit more clearance between throw out bearing and linkage. what has me puzzled is how quick it changed. going to adjust linkage and keep going. maybe it was getting worse all along but just did not notice it until I could not put it in gear.

When you put the clutch in and ajusted it the first time did you tighten the lock nuts on the linkage.

i did and they were still tight. I'm wondering if when I was messing with the tire on that side I maybe hit the linkage and bent it funny or something. seems to be ok now after I adjusted but not a lot of adjustment left.
