Gleaner A For sale.

WOW, is that an amazing machine. Fantastic price, too. Scrap prices are so low it's hard to find good deals here in Ohio anymore.

Roger, how's the 5297 coming?! The story fascinates me!

Albert. The 5297 is in the shed. I still haven't gotten the other 5297 home yet. I started restoring the Charger, my youngest daughter wants it. I have someone in my life now and there seems to be a lot of "honey do" projects. The ladies at church asked me to build a display case - 12 feet wide, 7 feet tall, 18 inches deep. I check in on L every couple of days, she and her husband never had children. I am the son she never had. Her husband passed on 4 years ago so I look out for her.

Anyway ..... feel free to tell any or all of these females how the 5297 is more important than their project.

Is the "E" the next one after the "A"? We got our new "E" in about 1964-65 when the dealer drove it about 5 mile out from town. We did not get a cab with it but it was not long until it had a home made cab on it.
Dad must of like the "E" as after a while we got another used one just for Beans and the first one got wore out picking corn (became a parts machine when the clutch went out) I still have the "E" and with cleaning up & new decals would look pretty nice yet. That galvanize does not rust. They both ended up with some scar marks & damage from use around trees, fences and what ever else got in the way. Does anyone sale the decals for the old Combines? Cleddy

Production of the E started later than the A. It's a little smaller, but not by much. A series was eventually dropped, but the E became the EIII for one year, then the K, and K2. We had three E's around here. Dad's E, one of the last produced, is owned by a neighbor.
