combining corn

Ran the old 6620 over some corn fields yesterday and again it did a good clean job. Yields are way down due to our drought here in northern NY state and I will post more bout that on the YT tales site. I really like this old JD combine and I wish I could have afforded a newer one but this one will have to do.

I did have a little problem when the bottom radiator hose began leaking and the local JD dealer did not have a replacement but my wife climbed up on the beast and gave the hose a country rebuild. She wrapped it with several layers of electrical tape topped by the handy mans friend namely "duct tape". No leaks at all and it held all day.

My wife is quite a gal and she has been hanging around me for over 61 years. She fixed my radiator hose and then went in the house and made me an apple pie for supper. Life is great isn't it?

And this is why folks like me keep coming back to this site every day. ;) nice thread.

I still am a believer that the 20 series Deere do a better job of cleaning grain and putting it in the tank than the newer one, now I would not give up my 9500 and go back do to the comfort! I did fire up the old 7720 to run some green stemmed beans and it ate them right up where the 95 struggled and could not get a clean sample.
