Anyone familiar with IH 800 series corn heads?

I have an issue with a slip clutch on the far left. Those two rows are no longer turning and I can see where I shut her down the teeth on the clutch are not meshed but touching at the tips. Teeth look fine, not much wear. Thinking the springs have seen better days? Looks like a retainer plate held on with nuts. Need to remove a section of drive line? Am I on the right track? Headed out in the morning and thought I would check in with those in the know.

A lot of time the manual gives a length that the springs should be tightened to. This gives enough tension on the slip clutch that under normal conditions it doesn't slip. Use to have some springs break on Dads 800 head.

I spent the day tuning up the "new to me" 820 head I bought a year or so ago and have never had on the combine. Making me nervous...it all seems to work fine. Just needed different hydraulic fittings. I found my manual on the 800's, there is a diagram of the clutch on the 863. Probably give it a shot tomorrow.

There are measurements for the springs as mentioned. Once they all have roughly the same tension she shouldn't slip unless you put the screws to it.

Called my dealer today and the guy I work with there is suggesting the springs lose their ability to keep it tight. I have to do some disassembly in the area for another repair so I am going to check it out. I have had it happen with planters and drills with the same basic clutch. Manual gives one measurement for distance from plate to another point. Springs are not expensive if they look worn or are broke.
