K gleaner starter problem

The starter on my K gleaner started dragging yesterday to the point of not starting. I thought no problem I will take one off the other K . No such luck . The first combine ser. no. KR 6002 has 2 bolts that come up from the bottom to hold the starter on. The second combine, ser. no. 19602 has its starter held on by 3 bolts that go through the end of the starter much like a car or truck. Both combines have Chevrolet 250 gas engines. Will these starters interchange if I simply change the snouts? They look pretty much the same but the drive on the first combine may be a little longer. My rebuilder quit or I would simply take it to him. Thanks for any help, Lee

The starter may only need bushings and/or brushes, not hard to do, and if you have access to an older auto parts store they may have them on the shelf.

On the other hand, likely the starter with two bolts from the bottom (that's the one you need, right) is the same as a Chevy truck with a 250 or 292 engine, but those are probably getting old enough an auto parts store wouldn't have them on the shelf.

Is there a Delco tag on the starter or has it been previously replaced with a rebuilt?

Thanks for the reply Bob. Yes the one with 2 bolts from the bottom is what I need. There isn't a delco tag on either starter. I will check local auto parts stores in the morning.
