6620 cleaning fan adjustment

Ok this things got me stumped! I noticed my cleaning fan speed was way low last week goin over the old gal before getting started on beans. Got looking things over and found a wore out thrush bearing and it had chewed into the outer sheave up by the adjustment rod. Got all that replaced and can not get more than 450 rpm out of it before I'm out of threads on adjustment rod. Is there any chance someone could post some pics of theirs just for me to look see if I got it all back together correctly? I'm also questioning where the nuts on the adjustment rod are placed. Friend helped me take apart and can't remember where they were placed on the rod lol. Thank you to any one that could help!

If you are absolutely sure you assembled it correctly then change the belt regardless of how good it looks. Many times belts get stretched for varying reasons. A new belt will be shorter which opens up the bottom sheave more, giving you a higher fan speed. Check to be sure the belt you have runs to the top of the drive sheave. If not, you assembled something wrong. If the belt IS flush with the top of the sheave and the speed is slow then replace the belt. Mike

Awesome pointer Mike! The belt is def not going to top of sheave. I'm on the truck today so in my travels I plan on looking at a machine just like mine to see what i did wrong.

Sounds like you're on the right track with the belt replacement. When we got our 9500 I kept trying to speed the fan up nothing was happening. Then decided let's see how far it will slow down. Hit the - and the fan sped up. Somehow the switch got wired backwards. You never know what you will find

Got it figured guys! I took the rod with the bend in it and shortened it by an inch. I'm gettin 800 rpms out of her now. I know it's not the max it should be but the rod is maxed out and I'm satisfied. Thanks for help guys!
