we have a early model 1460 international combine and it has no electric header height on it . i found a late model 1460 combine at a salvage yard with the electric header height, swing for the unloading auger and autoheader height for the bean head. it is a complete unit. does anyone know if i can put that set up in my early model 1460? any help is more than appriciated.

thanks ben

It would be a lot of hydraulic changes with the solenoid control valves and switches.

I had a 78 model 1480, that had a mechanical head height control. It was all down on the left side of the combine with a mechanical valve connected to the header sense lever by a flexible cable.

We had a Massey 750 before this one and it had the header height on the hydro lever and that's what we are used to. This one had a aftermarket one on the hydro lever and it worked great until this fall when something cracked internally in the valve housing and it is no longer avalible. That's when this idea came about to take a whole electric system out of a junk combine wiring harness lines and all. Think it's possible to do?

Thanks.

I had the same thought many times when I had my 1460. Glad I didn't spend the time or money. The motor and hydro shaft went out at the same
time and all that work and money would have been wasted on that machine. Sold it for salvage and had enough money for the first years payment
on a 1660.
