6620 Radiator plugs with bean dust

Between my radiator and a/c cooler I have bean dust accumulate and eventually plugs the radiator. I have to open it up and blow this out every 6-7 acres. I took the radiator out and had it boiled and painted. I also replaced all of the seals around the door. Anyone have any experience with something like this?

We had to go and get a rotating screen off an old Gleaner for our old Massey and ditch the original system.

It sounds like you are fighting wind blowing just right. If you have to keep battling it I would put a piece of window screen over it - build a wooden frame if you have to. It's a lot easier to brush off a screen that clean a radiator.

You have a leak in the rotary screen sealing system some where. Also is the suction tube open to allow the fan to suck the dust off the outside of the rotary screen??? Also check the tube back towards the engine fan. I have seen this tube plugged up with sticks/corn fodder/etc.. Is the seal (#8) around the tube good where the door closes. Also check the brush around the out side of the rotating screen. If it is damaged it will not work well either.

I blow mine out once each day and usually do not have much there to clean out. So you have to have a leak some where to have to clean it out every few acres. A leak blower works well to clean this out in the field.

I think that the bean dust is exceptionally bad this year. My 6620 has filled up between the oil cooler and radiator as well two of three times this year. Temperature indicator has came on twice. Usually indicates bean dust on the radiator. Cleaned the pleated air filter element and in less than 5 hours the filter element light came on. So, you are not alone.

My 7720 does the same this year. I have a battery powered blower I keep with me and blow it out every couple of house. Be careful when you open the condenser as you can break the line and then have no A/C. When I work for the dealer thru collage I can not remember the number of condensers I replaced.

Ditto on the tube plugging. There are also knive or knives that are mounted somewhere that is supposed to cut longer pieces and keep vacuum tube from getting constipated.
