M2 header won't engage

Got M2 put back together last week and been running in corn. All was well until last Friday night, when the header quit just a few yards from the end of the field. Looked for blown fuse, none blown. Made sure all were tight - they were. Hopper was full, so went ahead and dumped, then tried it again and it worked. Worked fine Saturday, Sunday evening, and most of this evening. Had a gathering chain jump off the drive sprocket, went ahead and dumped, put it back on, then head wouldn't engage. Fuses good, got power to every wire on the switch, but no power at the brush holder. Found wire coming out of the cab going to brush holder, no power coming out of cab, either. Anyone had this problem? It might be easy to solve if I could trace the wire back to the switch, but it disappears inside the cab...

On the F2 I had a mouse strip the insulation off that wire for a foot in the console under the throttle and gauges. Took a devil of a time to find.

Because, it would blow the fuse, but then it would work for 2 rounds.... Would only blow when that dangly wire touched a frame piece.

Those deals are frustrating.

Thanks, Paul. Something like that is probably what's going on with the M2. I can only trace the wire partway, so I ran a new one from the switch this afternoon and got the head working again. Hope to have some time soon to clean things up right good and trace the original one all the way. Got another problem now I'm going to start a new post for...

I hear on the newer cars the wiring [the coating] is made out of a certain amount of soybean oil. and the mice can smell that and love to eat it off. Thanks check off dollars.LOL
